This picture makes me miss my cat. She was almost 17 and I had to have her out down this time last year. Any time I was sitting in my chair or laying in bed with a book, she would curl up on my lap and everything would be right in the world.

I feel it more about how rewarding it is having a dog over a cat. There are many memories you can cherish with a dog. It first time meeting new dogs, first time on the beach for a run after being vaccinated, having it wait for you to come home and being sad when detached from it. With a cat you don't go through any of that. I had a beautiful cat that I loved. I cried when it died but slowly I forgot about her because the memories I had with her just weren't as strong. However toxoplasmosis would likely have a bit of an effect on you.
