what are some good books to learn the beginning psychology concepts? For example, pavlovian conditioning.

Would college textbooks be a good bet?

Read some Jordan Peterson. You will feel like you know something about psychology. Then read some Zizek. Then you'll start to feel confused. Now read some Wittgenstein. At this point, you should now understand that psychology is a pseudoscience, at which point you can move on to bigger and better things with your time.
