I'll start. The little prince by Antoine De Saint-Exuprey

>> No.17041982

This is not a children's book.

>> No.17042023

>>17041982
It may be a book for all ages but he only wrote because he was persauded to write a children's book by the wife of one of his publishers, so I still see it as a children's book that is more than a typical children's book.

Womanish crap that should only be read to learn French. The Wind in the Willows is much better

Abels island by William steig was always my favorite. It's about a mouse who ends up a castaway on a deserted island. Love that book it's pure soul

I've had a copy of wind in the willows but never got around to it, only ever seen an old stop motion adaptation of it before.

Give it a go. At times it gets pleasantly philosophical with its digressions on life's little necessities.

The Adventures of Captain Underpants series
Alice's Adventures in Wonderland

It's great, one of the comfiest things ever written. Not at all frivolous though, were the characters not animals it probably would not necessarily be thought a children's book.

An anon made a thread about The Edge Chronicles earlier this week and I started the first one because the art seemed interesting. It's comfy, a whimsical world and fun cast of characters. Got that whole buccaneering adventure vibe.
