Semi-off-topic question: Is Goethe's Italian Travels a good read? Saw it for only 2$ at the shop yesterday. Mark Twain's travel writings are the only ones I've read in the genre, but I really enjoyed them.

He was, he brought it with him to Egypt. I was trying to say that Napoleon is coming into the German scene and wreaking things. Some of the french troops tried to break into Goethe's house.

it's a shitty movie about goethe goethe goethe finding the love of his life and then losing it, bawwing and then writing "Die Leiden des jungen Werther"

But what does it have to do with irony. I hate it when directors make movies that completely ruin an idea or event in history. Like goethe goethe goethe's near suicide and writing of T.S.O.Y.W.

Speaking of biopics on authors, has anyone seen Lope?

Was it worth watching?

I only know of Hölderlin through Heidegger. That's why I think he's brilliant even though I've never read him. One day...
