This question is invalid for over 50 years. What I can tell you is that any non-trasparent form of ruling (oligarchy, corporate rule) leads to slavery of one form or another. But transparency is the hardest thing to manage in today's world, so we are left with stringman and red herring politics. Enjoy the ride

cheers mate, would drink a beer rn as well. sucks not having social contact

I would argue that you should best start with a top 5/ top 10 poets in your own native language. Brodsky wrote that "poetry is what gets lost in translation". While I don't think that far, I do believe poetry is best tasted in one's own cultural matrix. So enarm yourself with some patiance and try to read as diverse as you can find; refer school program poets or college tier works. Don't read their most-well known poems but their lateral ones and see which resonates with you (style, themes). Work from there and you will surely discover more.

Only then should you explore worldwide classics. I guess reading english poets is nice but I find them most a little dry. I would suggest William Blake.

Also, stay far from recent or contemporary poetry. Approach it only after you already have a strong taste formed so you can properly judge if it's worthwhile. Otherwise you can end up understanding the wrongs things about what poetry actually is

Remember that poetry comes from times when man understood words as sacred. Keep that in mind and try to see poems as images flowing more than words in logical relations. The logic of a poem aims to transcend, not describe.

>> No.16970923

>>16968456
I would start with GR or V if you like Burroughs. Neither are that hard to read once you get into them. For Borges I'd say start with ficciones/Labyrinths then read Dreamtigers which is his best poetry book.
