About a week or two ago I finished reading the Social Contract by Rousseau. What do I read next for philosophy/political doctrine?

Read the communist manifesto

Then what? Isn't that book pretty short?

don't read the communist manifesto, its for pseud, follow pic related instead

yeah, it is pretty short, but I think that if you liked Rousseau it is pretty important to read something that is a bit more concrete. What you should read after that really depends on what you thought of the book. If you liked it, then read Das Kapital.

Thanks

I'd give it a 7/10. Mostly good but the little tangent on the end about Christianity seems very misinformed.

Depends on if you want a historical or contemporary book. After Marx, pretty much everything tries to confirm or deny it to some degree.

I was looking for something more I guess "fundamental". Original theories I mean.

>muh social contract
Lol I don't remember signing that
>>16934943
Don't read that. Read Das Kapital by Marx instead.

montesquieu's "the spirit of the laws", you don't find a only a great philosophical/political book, but also a bro.

>don’t remember singing that

May I ask do you vote? Participate in everyday society? Follow the rules and norms outlined in a fashion? Instead of the gay argument about signing a theoretical contract it would be more suitable to state you reject the contract imposed

How long is Das Kapital? I'm going to be quite busy this month. Is it worthwhile to read?

>> No.16936042

>>16935996
It's like 2500 pages all together. Volume 1 is around 800. And yes, definitely worth reading.

I wonder how many of the people that go through this program come out a leftist or a trumpist at the end.

lmao bet you haven't. I'm gonna read the abridged version, sweaty
