The problem with this statement is that you (and the author I presume) are judging men and women as if we're isolated individuals, solely acting upon our either male or female primitive urges. While it is undeniable that men are generally (on average) more aggressive and conflict oriented than women, to suggest that this is the root of all evil is simply ignorant and wrong.
Wars for example are not fought over dick-length and pride, but over resources, geopolitical and ideological dominance. Masculinity probably has some marginal role in battles and wars, but they're definitely not the root. Imperialism is not based on gender, as evidenced by people like hillary or maggie.
Secondly, local day-to-day violence also stems from material conditions (not only, but primarily). You could argue that culture has the biggest influence in that case, but people who claim this seem to forget that culture and material conditions are not to be seperated - they heavily intertwine. I could expand on this but I'm watching the champions league rn so I have no more time.

It's very interesting to me how many men hate women, and so many women hate men. But still we somehow manage to continue humanity as a whole. If you look through websites that typically hate men (twitter, lolcow) and those that hate women (4chan, parts of reddit), the only types of their hated gender that they're positvie about are simplified and memed (tradwife, ideal gf memes) versions of said gender, which has no possible existence in reality. When people "love" in real life, do they actually love the person they're with, do they love that person with all the flows and imperfections, or do they love this simplified and idealized version.
Regardless it makes no difference to me, I'm a schizoid loser who can't improve, and who doesn't deserve better than contempt.
