Because literature is is a human and rational construction, which makes its way towards freedom through struggle and dialectical confrontation, which uses signs of the linguistic system, to which it confers an aesthetic value and gives a fictional status, and which is developed through a communicative process of historical, geographical and political dimensions, whose fundamental figures are the author, the work, the reader and the interpreter or transducer.

>random Spaniard nobody

I wouldn't call him a nobody, even though I disagree with many of his points.
First, he is actually an academic literary critic and has been so for decades. He didn't arise out of nowhere.
Second, he has produced an oeuvre. It is thousands of pages of long and is being widely discussed on the internet by people who are interested in literature.
Third, his YouTube channel is very serious and has probably more than 1000 hours of in-depth close readings of literary works.

So he's a shitty professor from a small university in Spain who's been mostly unnoticed for several decades and got so desperate for fame that he started shilling his "literary critique" video series here on 4chan.

His criticism of Borges is a proof of his theory's limitations, though.

I still think his video on Borges was enlightening in some aspects, though. I think he is a great reader. It's the way he judges authors after having read them that annoys me.

I don't like systematizers, and he is one.

He doesn’t criticize Borges that much. He’s acknowledging that Borges is a huge cynic and all of his lectures and essays are him playing games with the audience or reader. He holds Borges pretty highly. He just shits in on people who praise Borges because it’s the thing to do and never dare to criticize his system of thought. He is right about Borges’ poetry too, most of it is average.

Yes, he shits on borges short stories, he said that they are childish nonsense.

I don't care if he shits on Borges, Shakespeare, Alcott, Dickens, and Twain, there are not sacred or untouchable authors. He's pretty based.
