So anyway I was chillin wit my mandem and we was all over that Shakespeare shit and this was me, I was all "Shakespeare's true genius was that he mastered the iamb, and since English is truly an iambic language, he deserves his reputation as the greatest English stylist and writer and shit" and my bredrin Dave was all "Nah man, Marlowe was the greatest exponent of the iambic form and this and that, and if he didn't die and all that shit then he would be held up as the English author par excellance innit".

As much respect as I have for Marlowe - Tamburlaine, Dr. Faustus and The Jew of Malta (or whatever it is called) are all classics - it is difficult to say he's better than Shakespeare.
