There's this youtube guy who puts out several videos a week about photography, metaphysics and rants. A lot of his videos are repeating the same things but the guy seems to be genuinely well read, or at least pretends to be, and makes bold claims about pretty much everything related to science and philosophy. Theoria Apophasis is the dude's channel's name.
Your pic reminded me of it since according to him the actual model of the universe is a torus and, without going into details that I don't really know much about anyway, this implies stuff like reincarnation.
He gives recommended readings, too.
I guess he speaks about the pythagoreans, for the esoteric part.

I grew up a christian and as a kid I never understood why the church opposed theory of the big bang. It seemed so obvious to me as a child that the idea that everything in the universe came from nothing was exactly in line with scripture. I don't know if Christians still deny big bang but it reminded me of the Catholic church denying astronomical discoveries in Copernicus and Gallileo's time even though they had no impact on the teachings of the church, and it just made the Church look retarded and foolish. I wish more Christians would notice that all of creation points to our Creator instead of being scared that science could possibly disprove God's existence

The latter are the stoners and schizos that everyone else rolls their eyes at, and they take that as the sure sign that what they want so desperately to believe in is the truth

To go deeper into occultism and esotericism you need a somewhat solid background in philosophy (especially Plato/Socrates) and in the main religions (especially Abrahamic religions for Western occult)

It depends. It's one of Evola's more difficult books, if you're not familiar with him or his worldview you might want to read either a short work like Metaphysics of War or his main work Revolt but that will take a while.
If you're just interested in the esoteric knowledge you can tackle it on its own but remember it's pretty dense and you'll need to focus. You might want to read something like Joscelyn Godwin's "Golden Thread" for background.
If you end up liking it, Evola's Introduction to Magic is also great.

You don't need to read all of that. Nor should you follow this chart >>16841824. Make sure you're familiar with European mythology, and have read at least one work of Evola that deals with metaphysics (Metaphysics of War, Revolt Against the Modern World, Mystery of the Grail). Then, if you focus, you'll be able to tackle The Hermetic Tradition.
However, Evola wrote about many different interesting subjects, so there's no harm in reading more of his work. You'll probably want to revisit him after you've read some anyway. Good luck.

The church remains resistant to basically all astronomical theories that can't be demonstrated by little Timmy with a telescope because acknowledging concepts like the Big Bang would require acknowledging the means of relativistic dating that tell us the Earth is about 4.5 billion years old, and so forth for other stellar bodies. It's not for insulation from questions of divine origin, since the Big Bang doesn't contradict that.
Nevermind that the Church's own dating of the Earth is shaky in Scripture itself and we have plenty of easily demonstrable evidence that the Earth is far older than the Church claims like carbon dating.
The era of the Catholic church refusing to give an inch lest science take a mile seems to be coming to an end though since the current Pope is a fucking cuck and is selling out even the Scriptural social and cultural values the Church has upheld for centuries.

Once you make the connection that alchemy and the Philosopher's stone isn't about transmuting literal iron into literal gold and more about people's souls in the Platonic sense then you can start connecting the esoteric stuff pretty freely. However, it is still a journey that you have to take yourself.
Start with Plato's Republic and then Timaeus.
