Less than 1% of people can come up with original ideas. Most of your thoughts are just something that someone else said first, and it resonated with you so you repeat it now. This is the most painful thing to know, because unless you are part of that 1% you will never be capable of it.

All ideas already exists in the abstract world. In the same "place" where pure mathematics, philosophy and the soul exist. 0% of people are capable of coming up with original ideas. Nobody sits down and pulls a concept fully formed from the depths of their head. That's not how brains work.
Every single idea ever had was the culmination of the information that a person has gained over a lifetime, not a spontaneous result of a bolt of magic inspiration.
That's the difference between the ancient philosophers and you. They lived a life, took what they witnessed during it, and developed that into coherent frameworks of thought. They learned and developed concepts through experience or by interacting with other thinkers, whether through debate or by studying at their feet. Meanwhile, you live in your basement and the sum totality of your creativity is smugposting on an internet forum about how you're one of the lucky few capable of "original" thought.
Well, genius? What's your original thought? What's something only you know, divorced completely from all other human concepts that might have tainted your genius idea with "unoriginality"?

I'm an original thinker myself. It all started with a simple epiphany "existence is a material idea of itself(the idea applies to itself)..."
I have uncovered profound spiritual truths, the secrets of righteousness(God's master plan), goodness(the path to divinity) and judgement(salvation).
Basically, mysticism and Christianity are the sacred truth. Moral idealism is entirely rational.
But outside of that strict framework, there is the common human element. Even very charitable Christians still own a T.V. and enjoy life. Sex is technically wicked despite only being mildly dangerous. We clamor to those with unjust might to defend us because the world is scary.

Anyway... there is definitely still room for original thoughts in the arts. There is a lot of untapped potential. There should be more symbolism, abstraction, and clearly defined themes/motifs.

Even questions are more original then that shit you said. Can we use DFT to speculate the probability of a soccer team winning?

You are a fucktard with no idea how knowledge is created, go dive deep in university if you want to know what it is like to work 12h a day, to get only bad feedback from retarded supervisors with no idea of what you are doing. You are kid and childish to think you can even grasp what an original thought is. I what makes me more angry is that I once was like you, I wish I could punch you in the face so you can realized now the dipshit you are. Go to university, it is mostly bullshit, but you will find true freethinker there, It isn't the diploma, but the environment and the people that surrounds you. You can go to university and not have single original idea if you just do what you are told to, but if you try hard you may one day be lucky enough to have time to try out your original idea with the free time you have not publishing papers to get you a higher prestige.

I think people missed the point of original ideas. It isn't the fact that most ideas are not new, it is the fact that most people rather read books than think for themselves. This isn't a particularly nuanced view of originality, never mind that it equivocates about the capability for weighing veracity, or weighing the vitality of one's own imagination according to the richness of the art, or the abundance of natural forms in a given setting, that it's responsive to. This is not to mention the eccentricities of affinity that operate at lateral filters, but aren't particularly good as measures of merit: There are plenty of ideas and inventions that are simply too trivial or niche to matter all that much, even to the few who've made their acquaintance. Likewise, most of us have certain preoccupations or highly specific images to which our minds recur out of all proportion to their use, simply because of the way mood and circumstance happened to align when we were young, and memories more readily annealed, especially in the deeper sites of it.
