I like his sarcastic way of writing. It's almost comedic picturing the events he describes in The Gulag Archipelago. Whether or not that book's accurate doesn't matter to me because it's still an entertaining read.

Cancer Ward is very entertaining if you work in healthcare. The depiction of the lives of hospital staff was so insightful that I had to look up if he had medical training.

A decent fiction writer who hit it big by peddling lies about the Soviet regime. Any person with at least some knowledge of history will tell you that Solzhenitsyn's claims are absurd. If you look at his work as pure fiction it's actually alright.

I'm Russian and I can safely say that none of Solzhenitsyn's claims about the 666 gorillion people massacred by the Soviets are backed by facts. The regime did some pretty evil shit but tthe idea that tens of millions of people died at the hands of the NKVD is laughable.
