for the typical post2016 /lit/ retard its impenetrable. They might try to pass off bits of wiki's entry on the critique as their own...maybe some lecture notes...but they're essentially high-functioning "people with learning difficulties"

No, but it is an extremely impressive work. There are some books that leave you in awe of the person who wrote them. This is one of them. Even if you don't agree with Kant.

>> No.16817553

>>16817450
No, Kant ends up declaring the ether to be logically necessary in his later work the Opus Postmum, thus the validity of metaphysics isn’t truly refuted since even Kant still tries to eke out an exception, but if one exception is allowed there is no real reason why the others are out-of-question either

It’s like, the boss of the third level. You need to have a pretty firm grasp on it to really engage in any of the philosophizing that’s gone on in the last 200 years, which is a lot of it.

The other reason it’s not the final boss is that there is clearly something *wrong*, and much of subsequent philosophy is about trying to solve the issues he raises.

Here the next couple levels:
Fichte - Science of Knowledge (Mini boss)
Hegel - Science of Logic

Schopenhauer - The World as Will and Representation

Husserl - Cartesian Meditations

Heidegger - Being and Time

Gadamer - Truth and Method

Deleuze - Difference and Repetition

Brandom - Making it Explicit

Personally, I think if anybody can understand Badiou’s three major works, Being and Event, Logics of Worlds, and The Immanence of Truths, then you’ve conquered the current final boss of philosophy.

Its the kind of book you need to reread a million times. Read the greeks, then hume leibnitz and descartes, then kant, then the german idealists, then kant again, then wittgenstein, then kant again, then modern analytic phil, then kant, then marxists, then kant, then psychoanalysts, then kant again, then post-structuralists, then kant again, then pomo-political philosophers, then kant again.. He pretty much solved philosophy, but you will only be able to appreciate that 10 years after understanding his arguments.
