In 10 years the meme trilogy will be The Recognitions, Women & Men, The Tunnel, then it will be Darconville's Cat, Zettels Traum, Joseph and his Brothers, then Rising Up and Rising Down, A Study Of History, and The Man Without Qualities, then it will be The Gold Bug Variations, Ducks Newburyport, Miss Macintosh My Darling, then...

Nope. Obviously Endless Fun will be replaced though. The Recognitions would be a good swap. The Tunnel doesn't leave you with much to talk about. Gass should have taken Ulysses seriously.

Door stopper isn't really a requirement, the unofficial secondary meme trilogy is usually 3 of Moby-Dick, Brothers Karamazov, Don Quixote, and Lolita. Moby-Dick really isn't that long and Lolita is under 300 pages I'm pretty sure

I speak English fairly well but I don't want to have to search what a word means every three lines while reading Infinite Jest. Also the experience in the end is the same, the story don't change.

There have been multiple attempts in last 6 years or so to make 'The Recognitions' a meme but they have never succeeded. It will likely never be a part of the trilogy, its also older than GR and IJ so that progression doesn't make sense.

Nice trips.

I thought it was overdone. Tried to be too many things without being perfect at any one. Took way to long to read, boring plot, and unnecessary gimmicks like he footnotes.

I got some good things out of it but it was a slog.
