Because Justin Bieber is his clone, created by aliens in another plot to take over the Earth. Why Koontz, you ask? No one knows, seems something got lost in translation.

I've read the vast majority of his work as a kid. My father really liked him, and being a kid i just wanted to read "dad's books." Strange to see a thread about him here on /lit/ of all places.

He's alright, but some of his work can be rather formulaic. If I had to pick a "comfort food" author it would probably be him, though I recognise that's rather subjective.

Okay, Dean Koontz, you fuck. I know what you did. You orchestrated the Covid-19 outbreak as a publicity stunt, didn't you!? Couldn't handle obscurity anymore, huh? What kind of maniac recreates scenes from HIS OWN BOOK!? What's the cure, Koontz!?

Same, but I always just thought of him as "less good Stephen King". Still, I consider him one of the 4 great "Dad" books (King, Koontz, Clancy and Child). My dad loves King, but he had just as many Koontz books, and sent me a couple, but I never got around to reading them.

My dad read Ian Fleming, Jack London, Hemingway, tons of cheapo books on the occult, as well as Clancy. I really enjoyed Moonraker and The Spy who came in from the Cold

I got a set of 50s edition Bond books. I enjoyed them too- I really enjoyed how Bond is a lot more John McClane than he is in the movies.
