The only way to test a philosophical argument is by dramatizing it. Fiction is the superior medium. Only a pseud would say, "Plot doesn't matter," because its unity is precisely what structures that very argument.

That's true, my Dad isn't good at metaphor and allegory. He couldn't understand that Da Vinci Code book and he told me and because I'm a bit of a cunt sometimes I didn't explain it to him, just told him that it's bullshit (which it is) and not to worry about it.
