He's wrong for acting as if materialism is something that can be refuted. Idealism or materialism isn't a conclusion one finds to reason, but it is something that is self-evident to the class of beings capable of intuiting Ideas and appears self-evident to to those incapable of doing so. Materialists are not a group that can be reasoned with, they are a caste of automatons trying to drag us into an abyss of nihilism.
