unironically write the book yourself is the best way to properly study. i think montaigne covers this in of his essays.
collect dots, and then connect those dots. keep quotes with underlying self-experience, and you'll never forget those quotes and self-experiences.

Well, I guess it depends on the person. I'm a guy who's spent the last 6 years basically 24/7 on a computer in one room, but I'm not addicted to the internet. I do get distracted by it. A lot. I like reading, I like learning more (studying), so it's not like I'm doing something against my will. It's just some line I have to cross to actually START. If you're addicted, you probably need professional help.
