Herzog is really hit and miss, some of his movies are great but many are unbearably bad. Everything involving Kinski is worth watching, and some of those are absolute kino. He has also done a lot of documentaries and voice-overs where he has edited film made by someone else, these are often good. Herzog really shines as a commentator.
