On the one hand it is actually true that most fantasy nowadays is at least semi-based on Tolkien's work and it would be nice to see someone shake things up, on the other hand he has clearly never read a Tolkien novel (Tolkien was fervently anti-war and some of the most powerful/wise characters in his novels were women like Melian and Galadriel).

I remember some loser on Twitter who wanted "Lord of the Rings with no white people" and described literally that, a copy/paste of LotR that included people of every race but white. I thought "this person is inches away from something that could be very cool".
Tolkien created Arda because he wanted England to have a mythology like Greece and the Norse countries do. He drew on European myths from across the continent in creating his work. If someone did that with African folklore and did it right, we could see a completely new take on fantasy.
