A /lit/ manga? Aku no Hana, a very good reverse teen angst story exploring codependency and emotional revolts against stagnation.

A manga about /lit/? Kuzu to Megane to Bungaku Shoujo: A manga about a dumb girl who, in hopes to being seen as smart, reinvents herself as a "literature girl" reading classics and dressing like a bookish girl would.

Both are good, the former being a better story, but the latter is relaxed and funny and you'll find more references to literature there. There's also that Bookworm anime but it's more about books than literature

Aku no hana (the flowers of evil). Literally inspired by baudelaire and the protagonist references it a lot. Lots of people shit on this show because of the animation but I thought it was great.
I think this is one of those anime that can be very appealing to people who usually hate the medium. Everything about it is pretty realistic. It feels more like you're watching a movie desu. I loved it.
A 2nd season was already in the works but apparently it got cancelled since the 1st season flopped hard because the community only likes shows that make their peepee hard.
If you don't like the anime you should still check out the manga.

Holy shit, eat poison. I know OP said "anime" but saying they should watch that abomination over reading the far superior source material is criminal.
>I think this is one of those anime that can be very appealing to people who usually hate the medium.
Yeah because it's closer to live action because it's rotoscoped.

OP, don't listen to this midwit and read the manga instead.

Such an underrated show. It was originally going to be based on "The Stars my Destination" which is a sci-fi remake of Monte Cristo but they couldn't get the rights so they just made their own version of sci-fi monte cristo

ohh it's you again huh? we've had this discussion before motherfucker. I'm not giving in.
The rotoscoping was a GREAT choice because it perfectly matches the sense of realism this show gives you. It is a MUCH better choice than the copy&paste art style that infiltrated the whole medium. I love shows that knowingly takes a risk for the purpose of artistic ambition

How dare you compare Kaiji to that garbage. There's a difference between untilising the medium in an inventive way (i.e The Ping Pong animation) and looking like hot trash (the Aku no Hana animation). WHAT DO YOU MEAN THE ROTOSCOPING WAS GREAT? ARE YOU ON DRUGS?! Do you even know what rotoscoping is? This wasn't "a risk for the purpose of artistic ambition" it was an ugly and lazy practice. Rotoscoping is used when animating a certain task (scenes where a character dances or plays an instrument) would be too difficult and costly to do traditionally so they employ rotoscoping as a sort of short cut. Shooting a live action movie and tracing over it (somehow making it uglier) is not artistic. There are many works who use a lot of rotoscoping and many works with rotoscoped segments that looked far better(meaning not hedious and choppy)and if you any knowledge at all you'd know that Aku no Hana's rotoscoping was shittily done. You childish hatred for conventional styles makes you biased for something that basically just looks a movie with a filter on it. In my dissections of good and bad art, bad art or bad artistic practices are ones that do not utuilise the medium effectively. An animation that uses rotoscope would be a bad artistic practice. You're autistic and have no taste—get your eyes check.
>durr it being ugly fits because the story is ugly
