Nice. I don't really like counting pages but I pushed through the 100 last pages of the Republic yesterday, and started Master and Margaretha today. It really is a world of difference, and I thought I was starting to go dumb or something.

Then again I'm freaking out because my dad is 64, and soon he's going to be 70, and then he's going to be 75, and you know. Make the time you have.

I already have a backlog i need to work through, at the moment I'd say these are my choices. really im in the mood for war and peace but at the same time I just got done reading a long ass book and want to read some shorter stuff before i take on another long one

I'll suppose that your long ass book was fiction. Then read The early history of Rome, it's short and it will act as a palate cleanser before going into War and Peace. I tend to do this if I go between two big books or two great books which have very different styles (while if I have two Huysmans' novels for instance I will probably read them one after another).

I think Ill do that, maybe see about getting in the mood for a few lovecraft short stories afterwards since it is spooktober after all. might start snowing before the end of the month and that would probably be a comfy time to wait for war and peace anyway

thats pretty cute. kinda cringe i guess but my parents were big into reading fantasy back in the day so they named him Drizzt after the book character, I also have a bigger fluffy black one named after his giant panther sidekick from what i understand
