Tried to give it multiple chances but it always disappointed me plot-wise.

Pic related is the closest manga to PH and BB. The rest is mostly shoujo written for a more female-oriented target like Emma or the Earl and the Fairy, so they don't really fit the bill.

Read primary texts until you literally don't understand something, and use secondary as a reference. Using secondary sources as your main source obscures the field, like if you keep recording from each tape copy instead of a master tape, eventually you'll just end up with distorted noise.
