Honestly dude, not a bad list, but also I can't stress this enough: read what you want to read. Just because it's acclaimed on /lit/ doesn't make it good in the eye of the individual. Give yourself room to read simpler, entertainment stuff too.

If it's really just a starting list, then it's too heavy. Read shorter or easier books. There are tons of great novellas. From novels my advice would be to read 1984 first. It's great and easy read, and you must read it anyway.

If it isn’t a dumb bait thread I agree with >>16446413, it’s too hard for a novice reader. Bk shouldn’t be your first dosto, the Tolstoy and Ulysses will make you detest reading. Nietzsche is fun but you need an understanding of mythology (and maybe Schopenhauer ) to understand The Birth of Tragedy.

Keep the Homer, and pick up some of the following
>Siddharta
>The Hobbit or LOTR
>Plato’s Apology, Symposium, and Euthyphro
>The Hero with a Thousand faces
>A sci fi novel of your choice (could go dune since it’ll be culturally relevant in the next year, or Neuromancer if you like drugs or cyberpunk aesthetic)

Read these and get a feel for your taste. Don’t fall for lit memes
