i tried some of those freelance writing sites for a while. I remember working 6 hours on an article that I only got paid 15$ to write. just get a minimum wage job, you'll make more money.

if you want practice then I'd recommend writing your own articles and posting them on a blog or somthing. at least then you'll get to choose the subject matter. if you do freelance work you're going to have to write about VERY boring topics (like toasters or soaps) and you'll have to shoehorn in buzzwords so that the article shows up on search engines.
