If you cannot grasp masculinity out of the deepest reaches of a metaphysical concurrence to your truth and knowledge, then you do not understand metaphysics.

Read the sailor who fell from grace with the sea, the best work to start with, is short, and encapsulates many of his own conceptions and methods, including the heroic.

You do realize that Sun and Steel is a borderline homoerotic fiction, right?

Junger was a German philosopher who fought in WWI and had a lot to say about the transcendent aspects of war i.e. being ready to die at any time, the oppurtunity for bravery & heroism etc.

Lmao, okay.

There is a great mystery in and of life, in which you need to understand intuitively on some level. And that feeds into your current being in a very direct but free manner, it is your choice. Be the hero.

go to a gym and move metal. it appears banal but it will improve every single aspect of your life.

a man should be strong, right? lift weights. obvious.
a man should have good posture. the way to get that is to lift weights.
a man should be confident. a great physique helps tremendously.
a man should be disciplined. you could be walking around wearing the undeniable proof of your discipline on your body.
a man should be mentally resilient. squatting with 300+ pounds on your shoulders is scary and painful, and you'll do it anyway.

after weightlifting has cured your depression, you can start consuming media for the sake of personal enrichment. it doesn't matter what it is, only that you do so critically. remember : reading classics to posture in front of other /lit/ nerds is not "reading critically".

spend most of your time reading your contemporaries. they understand the world you live in and have poignant things to say about the human condition as it currently exists, something dead authors cannot do by definition.

don't be afraid to read trash. you don't have to finish a book if it fucking sucks. try to find diamonds hidden in the rough. don't be a classicist dullard.

PS if you're a grill and you're reading this, all of the above applies to you as well

Good post until this, Plato and Aristotle solved the puzzles of the universe and the things they said over 2,000 years ago still apply today.

I don't do gym right now because there are some shit that I still need to figure it out and personal stuff. I will be free for next year though and the thought of going gym or learning martials art is always in my mind. I just came out of Reserved Officer Training. which is basically training young people in military camp about Discipline and very soft military stuff. been there for 11-12 days and it is anything but a comfort zone plus no phone or stuff like that that you do at home. so that's something I guess.

ignore the prick being grandiose and confusing for no reason, if you need a book to tell you how to be masculine instead of being able to figure out what masculinity is and how to become masculine without books you're not actually masculine you're just doing what someone told you to
