I was thinking about this quote earlier today in the shower. I wonder what legitimately led to the conclusion. I juggled a few ideas but never really came to a close. Maybe something about perception bias or something like that, but I guess what derails that is that mirror inclusion. Maybe he means that self reflection is impossible because the self doesn't exist. That would be kinda cool

I never hated him. Back in 2013 when I was just a teenager, when I first saw the posts mocking him as the " aristotle of our time" I saw the vanity in the critique and the unironic brilliance of his posts.
Granted, this particular post in the OP is not his best one but the other ones were genuinely great.
Dimwits mock everything they see as incongruent. Nothing profound can come out of a child celebrities mouth. You can only be profound if you're a bearded old man in academia, or if everyone else describes you as profound. Midwits don't operate on the level of truth and objective value judgements because they do not possess the capability to objectively judge. Instead, they must rely on social signals of what is acceptable, what is profound and what is not.
I remember trying to convince my dimwit friends that most of the posts on r/im14andthisisdeep were actually deep and insightful. They couldn't see past the fact that they were posted on a subreddit aimed at mocking attempts at what is perceived as being deep. I remember getting very frustrated arguing with them.
