This is the only philosophy book you need to read.

It's so funny (but incredibly pitiful if you think too much about it) to see atheists spouting sophistical nonsense without understanding act and potency, the four causes, and the argument from composition.

Was Nietzsche too stupid to understand Aquinas, or was he more interested in fame amongst the lowest class of thinkers, atheistic pleasure-seekers and easily-deceived FOOLS?

unironically all our "being" at the end of the day is directly related to theology, theres just no way around it

>> No.16343897

Atheist theology is the next thing. Atheists thought everyone could fall in line with their bullshit scientism then realized most people are morons. Now they're frantically looking for alternative viewpoints that validate science and faith but without religious faith. Then they'll write their great work: Finding God.

F.C. Copleston would not endorse your uncharitable and juvenile assessment of modern philosophy. F.C. Copleston himself wrote a book about Nietzsche's philosophy.

Christianity is outdated and it's going to die soon enough.

>want to read the summa theologica
>realize I have to read Aristotle before
>to read Aristotle I have to start with the greeks
>read the greeks and realize I have to read more greeks to understand philosophy
>read every single piece of philosophy before moving onto the romans
>go back to summa, realize I haven't read the bible
>start reading the bible
>wait, I haven't read the sumerian literature
>done with the sumerians, but now I need to understand the influences of early civilizations over the eastern and western civs
>work my way up the Chinese classics, move onto the Japanese just to spite them

It's kind of true. Christians aren't taught ANY theology and as soon as some kid asks them if god could make a stone too big for him to move their faith is shattered. I think the major reason why people leave the church is for intellectual reasons

They love it. There is a reason why every fucking trad larper e-celeb have multiple videos decrying that church is filled with emasculate sissified men.
>HOW ARE WE GONNA SOLVE THE FACT THAT CHURCH ONLY ATTRACTS BASEDBOYS?!
lel it's like these people haven't even read the Bible. It is a religion for the emotional and weak. There is a reason why when trad larping Christians want to talk about tough and based Jesus the best they got is when he got into a hissy fit and turned over a few tables.

>We live in an age of inventions. We need no longer climb up a flight of stairs with great effort. I am determined to find an elevator to carry me to Jesus, as I was too small to climb the steep stairs of perfection. In Holy Scriptures, I sought the elevator I wanted, and I read: ‘whoever is a little one, let them come to Me.'

Dear Anon (and all similarly situated anons), there is an "elevator" to the Summa. A couple of them, in fact: Copleston, Kreeft, and even - saints preserve us - this: https://www.sparknotes.com/philosophy/aquinas/section1/

Why do christfags pretend equines actually contributed anything or did anything other than label the limits of current understanding as the limits of possible understanding?

He took Aristotle and made it jesusy and put his name on it and called it case closed. He did a disservice to anyone who ever read him. Get over it kiddos.

Not disagreeing. But to see or relate to God (or even an atheist based mythos) you need something beyond scientism. I love science but it's only a piece of the puzzle. To work with science you need ideology.
The thing is that ideology is mostly unspoken of. We recognize our ideology and different ideologies but never see them all together in the same room. By faith we make out how all the rooms fit together to make a house of worship but this architectural endeavor is done by overarching beliefs that are fundamentally best approached philosophically with some necessary appeals to theology. Science needing to shut up and now its whore place.
Voltaires need to invent God, Nietzsches need to invent a dad.
