I'm midway through Jane Erye and I've liked it a lot so far. It's pretty good at setting an atmosphere; I enjoy the gothic aspects of the story, which I didn't expect to find.
Also, I recommend that you read Jane Austen instead of going just by her reviews. Form your own opinion instead of relying on others; if it were up to /lit/, I'd probably never read anything because it's all bad.

That's the patrician choice.

I am a woman and do not read female authors (outside cute childrens lit like Frances Burnetts secret garden or at most the aspie-Bronte romance, tho that's hardly above faplit). That's about what women can acomplish. Cute, inoffensive phantasy for young minds. Sometimes looking for serious books on political issues or history I come across an interesting title, just to close the tab with cringe when faced with it.

Women do it when they are intimidated by perceived dominance and when they have a safe enough environment that they can call the perceived intimidator some "bad" words. Actual incels do it to find validation from the former group, because they don't have any other way to find validation from the opposite gender, they are neither confident, attractive or sincerely sexist, which to your dismay, women find attractive, when expressed in a calm manner, not in a seething manner such as yours.

You're retarded, someone could give you any number of books you'd find interesting and worthwhile that were written by women, and if they were able to lie and cover up this fact and convince you it was written by a man, you'd love the book all the same.

This isn't about whether or not women are less capable of thought or writing than men, it's about the need you already have to think of women as inferior. Then whatever you read by men or by women would naturally confirm this, leading you to this conclusion which is really nothing more than the result of your pre-conceived prejudices.

>Does anyone else feel that female authors tend to be way more obsessed about sex than male authors?

You know how you sometimes feel that your penis is trying to control your mind, driving you into a sex-fueled frenzy? When sometimes you're so horny that it makes you angry? When it's a complete struggle to just control your sex-drive to get something done? When your penis says "yes" but your mind says "no"?

With women, there is no division between will and sex-drive. When her vagina says "yes" her mind also says "yes" simultaneously, and she is completely unaware of this exchange. She is psychologically unable to recognize this happening.

A man may think with penis, but the vagina thinks using the woman.

Women are okay when it comes to expository information in an already established field. You just have to eye-roll their tendency to shoe-horn sexuality into everything.
But expecting a woman to write a satisfactory literary work or unique philosophy for the male mind is just ridiculous. There is too much of a disparity in perception.

It's in women's own interests as well, because if I read Dostoevsky, for example, his idealised, strong and intelligent women often steal the show, but then I'll read an actual woman and feel repulsed by their female characters.

I'm not really after "insights" when i'm reading.
That said most women who get published are worse reading than even those men who shouldn't have been published.

Lol this and also women don’t understand Dostoyevsky. They just can’t. Even smart women don’t get the plainly shoehorned message most of the time.

>Be A.S Byatt
>One of the best writer post-WWII England ever produced
>Knows more about Victorian poetry, society, and culture than most men
>Writes a book about how we have lost something in the modern era while implementing beautiful Victorian poetry that she wrote, and which could easily be hidden and pass off as Robert Browning and Emily Dickinson
>Fights against postmodernism and its taking away of values in society
>Writes an ending that will tear the fucking heart out of the coldest and dumbest incel

What was that again, OP?

White women used to be able to write mystery novels and pulps very competently.
I think it died off in the 00s though, don't know why. The few good ones seem to have been ousted by publishers in favor of politicals or outright descended into gay fapbait for fujos.
Japanese women still manage, although I think in some part due to the strong backing/strict editing of their publishers.
