Hey folks, so I started reading Imperium and I'm loving it so far. But it occured to me that I don't know much about roman culture, politics or government to really understand some of the points in the book

So I was wondering if you guys could reccomend some supplimental reading on rome.

I got a few choices here and I was wondering where to start. Whatcha think?

Look at that top-right corner. Livy, Suetonius, Caesar, Cicero. Read those. Start with Livy

Gibbons abridged is one of those book(s) you can totally settle for an abridgment of. The full set is hard to come by and expensive. Advisable to get only if you’re already a big fan.
