Fountainhead is a boring boring ass book. None of the characters were drawing and the philosophy was basically, bad guy is socialist who through some author magic is made bad and good guy is guy who sticks up for himself when no one does (which can't apply to socialist).

I appreciated the book's sexual politics more than the economic politics. It's a fascinating delve into the female psyche. Dominique (Ayn Rand's self insert) is the ideal woman because of her attractiveness and practically nothing else. Somehow the most degrading action she could do was dating a spineless beta cuck of a man. This was actually considered self harm in her mind. Yet being raped by Howard Roark and losing her virginity to him was a good thing because Roark is a hot chad. Or the fact she hops from dick to dick doesn't cause her to lose value at all. It's also interesting how Rand crafts the only other female character as a really nice woman who turns into a shrill social worker as being the ultimate betrayal of femininity.

That being said Rand only comes into her own with Atlas Shrugged which is the story of one career driven woman named Dagny Taggart and her dilemma of having to choose between a billionaire mining magnate, a very rich metallurgist, or a very wordy inventor while ignoring her beta cuck friend who manages the railroad on her behalf. Luckily she finds a whole commune of rich single men to fuck by the end of the book.
