Probably Poor Fellow, My Country (longest single-volume novel written in English). And while its length served a purpose, I'm not sure it needed to be /that/ long. Nonetheless I enjoyed most of it, some sections a lot, some less so - for example, I didn't enjoy some of the sections focussing on the aborigines as much.

Insightful. When I read the Metaphysics, it felt surprisingly natural, since all that background naturalized me into the Greek way of thought, and so I could “see the threads”. It made it actually seem kind of, manageable compared with my expectations for it. Its the difference between seeing a math problem where you cannot understand the terminology or even begin to imagine a solution, and seeing a tricky derivative problem. Before, something like the Metaphysics would have been incomprehensible, now it feels like the Greats are in reach, a most beautiful delusion.

It's just a meme, that tweet was edited. But if you want some arguments I imagine /lit/ would make:
>There are better translations but you have to look for them individually for each dialogue, they aren't compiled in a single volume.
>not reading them in Greek
>since it's the translation recommended in the meme Start with the Greeks chart, it gets automatically disqualified
hope that helps

Forgot to answer if I liked it. I thought it was great. Aside from the actual point of the book Gould has an encyclopedic knowledge so I learned about a lot of random stuff (probably why the book is so big). It’s hard to say how much I’d agree with him nowadays though.
