/ Perennialist souls. What are you reading these days? I've noticed it doesn't seem to be as talked about these days. Is it just a matter of having grown out of this hole?

Bhagavata Purana and Cavalcare la Tigre

Lately I've been reading a few classic novels and ancient poetry. But with the mentioning above of the Yoga Vasistha and the Bhagavata Purana, I'm starting to crave a Hindu text now.

it's good

as to the popularity of the Traditionalist writers, they never were, at least they were never actually read, beyond maybe Guenon (and only ever via Evola)

Even Evola though is now starting to wane it seems. Though, the aforementioned Guenon does seem to be getting a bit more popular. I've noticed more conversation on him across various places I look on in the last few months.

Read it already. It's quite good, though a second reading is highly warranted. Texts of the sort are always best if read more than once.

Please enlighten me if this is a ridiculous sentiment but: whats the general stance on free masonry in relation to perennialism? Authentic or inauthentic tradition?
Any recommended texts about it from this perspective?

Is there a school or sect of Hinduism which you would like to learn about more? If so I may be able to offer you a recommendation for a text to read

OP here. What would you recommend as your own most motivating text. What inspires you the most to really dig your heals into the path, turn away from vanity and renew your practice?

I have yet to find any Hindu scripture or philosophical writing which I have enjoyed reading as much or which have had as big of an impact upon me as Shankara's Upanishad commentaries, although I've still encountered some pretty profound works of other schools/sects and now after having read most of Shankara am enjoying the process of beginning to increasingly acquire and read the works of those other schools like Vishishtadvaita, Kashmir Shaivism, the Naths, Shaktism etc. If you already have a working grasp of Hindu philosophy which can be acquired from reading 1 or 2 books on the subject then you can start reading these and it should generally make sense. Even if some passages or a certain discussion might not make sense, just keep reading and soon enough you will gradually piece together the context of what he is saying and see how it applies to your own consciousness etc.

Some masonic groups are very different from others, and they have also changed over time as well, so it’s difficult to come to any accurate across-the-board judgement. De Maistre was a freemason for example but so were many of the founding fathers of America.

Been considering Samkhya a lot lately. Though for any time I've read books on Hinduism in the last 3 months or so, it's been mostly related to Advaita Vedanta.

Read the Samkhya Sutra of Kapila and the Samkhya karika of Ishvarakrishna. Then, read the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali which as one of the important Yoga texts takes the ideas of the earlier Samkhya and adopts them with a few modifications. Then you can read the Yoga Yajnavalkya which is another important Yoga text elaborating on the same ideas.

That's because guenonposter scared them away. I posted a thread a few months ago (I'm the guy who posted the Sacred Web Conference videos), and there was some good discussion, but it's not the same.

I haven't, but thanks for the rec. I started the Study Quran which was edited by Nasr (I've read one of his books years before, Man and Nature or something like that), but decided to get more background on Muhammad's life before continuing, that context seems very necessary.

Another Nasr on my to-read list is In Search of the Sacred: A Conversation with Seyyed Hossein Nasr on His Life and Thought
