>tfw reading about history and wars and crimes and stuff
Is there any book to help cope with the fact that so many countless people have experienced unimaginable pain and tortures throughout not only history, but right this very second?

This is just a cope to make you feel better about how you mistreat people in this life.

Same way slavery is in history books. Its brow beaten into people so they say "at least it's not that bad" when in fact, psychologically they led better lives than most people do today. Even in ancient Greece, people willing sold themselves into slavery because they would have 1) a roof over their heads, 2) 3 meals a day, 3) arranged family. If I could sell myself into slavery today, I would.

In the exact same vein, you mistreat people, fail to help them, fail to see their suffering and then look at something that you cant control and then feel bad. Same reason people donate to charity. Because they step over and ignore everyone in their immediate lives so they think throwing their money at a faceless organization attones for it. It doesn't. It makes you an even worse person.

You don't cope with it, you wallow in it until you kill yourself or hit the eject button. Never forget the millions of young men who had their lives ripped away from them so the architects of the world wars could make a buck - you only need to remember the Christmas truce to know the first war was based on lies.

Remember all the animals and plants steamrolled into paste so these systems can flourish. The horrors of history are just another way of saying the horrors of civilization. Read Against His-Story, Against Leviathan, and fuck this gay earth and its faggot slaves.

>psychologically they led better lives than most people do today
whenever people assume that someone else is suffering, they can only ever do so from behind the lens of their own personhood - they imagine the other person and think "wow, you mean they don't get to play vidya, work in a desk job, watch netflix, and suck cocks? that must be hell on earth! how awful! thank god we invented human rights!" when really non-modern humans lived in an emotional landscape that is not even recognizable as being inhabited by the same species as us. it is not possible to judge them any more than zuangzi can judge the happiness of fish

This, unironically. The past was a bad place and the present isn't much better...the future is where it's at.
