Yeah it was shitty but still felt communal, and the recommendations/discussion occasionally birthed genuine passion.

Recently there was a nest of /lit/ thread, and when nobody ended up mentioning iranman/Daniil Kharms, I realised how far from those days this board has become. It used to be about sharing pdfs of obscure books, encouraging anons to read doorstoppers, or gathering people on goodreads or various short lived journals. I feel bad for people to have missed it, there was an oasis even among the standard degrees of shitposting, and I can honestly say I discovered many many greater writers here.
