What are some books extolling the virtues of monarchy as a political system?

>> No.16175098

>Liberty or Equality
Best one imo, refutes the usual democratic/monarchist assumptions people have
>Democracy: the God that Failed
Most modern perspective, similar to Lib or Eq
>Yhe King's Two Bodies
Purely for understanding rather than supporting it, bit dense
>Leviathan
Easy to read, least insightful, slightly diff perspective

And to add, basically any traditional literature (Evola, Guenon, Action, etc) will expound a worldview that is basically only compatible with monarchy, but those books will provide a much more spiritual argument rather than its purely political virtue

>worldview that is basically only compatible with monarchy
can you expand on this point?
how can a worldview be "only compatible" with a certain form of government?

Basically traditional thought holds that there is a fundamental metaphysical level to life, and society and govt should be structured to transcend this level and ascend to the metaphysical. Democracy and monarchy aren't just political systems they're totally different understandings of the nature of power. Monarchy believes authority is from above, and is condusive to a spiritual outlook. Democracy, where power is from the people, will therefore remove power from the above and focus society on man and man's ideas. There's some leeway and grey area regarding oligarchies and aristrocratic structures but fundamentally tradition = authority from and focus on above = divinely appointed single ruler or ruling caste
Aspiritual or less spiritual thought = authority from and focus on people = people rules themselves thru democracy
