Also, how would you aquire knowledge of space? Does "space" reacts with the senses in any way? Can you even perceive any physical object at all without a previous a priori notion of space?

Empiricism is an epistemology just like rationalism and would be just as incomprehensible to the average person. Try explaining to someone that causality is nothing more than a mental connexion.
