i've read Sophie's World by Jostein Gaarder to start my journy.

I'm reading this right now, just finished the Voltaire chapter.
I'm enjoying the book but I have to say, it's 95% history, 5% actual philosophy. For someone hoping to get a conceptual overview of the development of philosophy this isn't a good book. Try AC Grayling's The History of Philosophy.

Fun and comfy to read because Durant is legit engaging writer but holy shit he doesn't understand philosophy and his critiques are just the most milquetoast liberal historicist horseshit next to Russell's History of Western Philosophy.
