I took an online class at a community college a few years ago for a "diversity credit" in non western cultures, and in that class we had to read Castaneda and some other shit and write essays about how hierarchies aren't real and inanimate objects and bacteria aren't inferior in intelligence to human beings. I met the teacher once, because I had a question, and he was a young black dude with dreads, and his office was covered with posters of malcolm X and general black rights extremism posters. It was an interesting experience.
