Is his "intro to philosophy" series a good introduction to philosophy?

There's better ways to spend your time. The guy is very basic in terms of what he puts out, meaning if you actually read the text yourself he doesn't have much to offer. On top of that he's really not a good lecturer/speaker. He often meanders and his attempts at getting the audience are pathetic. The most damning thing of all is that his son is a tranny.

Read the philosophers, read books about those philosophers, and then read those philosophers again.

generic response but the right way to get into philosophy is always by reading a history of it and then zooming into areas and thinkers that are of interest to you, and IF you have the dedication for it reading all the major texts from the major thinkers.

It is good in the sense that the lectures deliver what they set out to deliver, namely the surface meanings of philosophical texts in a video format. But don't expect anything beyond that, any originality whatsoever, or you will be disappointed. Consult them if you struggle with the primary sources, if you find that you have lost the thread of the text and have no idea what it is saying.
