I should recommend one I've been reading

The Pig, In Poetic, Mythological, and Moral-Historical Perspective by Panizza is crazy good, both as a pig book and a book in its own right. It takes you from the Puranas and Vedas to Egyptian farming practices, to medieval European festivals, all over the place with ease and a brevity that comes from the spartanic use of sources. Its fun and intelligent without becoming academic literature.

Of the Nature and Phemonenology of Pigs by Stuart Remington is very good. He was a little-known philosopher of the 19th century whose work was mostly based on the retroactive refutation of leading philosophical schools of the time. Of the Nature and Phimonolology of Pigs is widely considered his magnum opus, among many novel concepts it presents a new framework for metaphysics, and the text is largely based on his experiences working on various pig farms in Ireland for 15 years.

I cant find this online but it sounds really really good. Where did you read it at?

I'll throw down To Live and Think Like Pigs: The Incitement of Envy and Boredom in Market Democracies. Its largely unconcerned with pigs, but peppered throughout Chatelet brings up and relates his post modern concepts with swine

Yeah I'm not surprised you couldn't find any info online. I first read the book when I was living in Portugal, working in a local library. I only read it because it was one of the only books they had in English. I remember the man who donated it, he stunk of pig manure and kept mumbling about "sneaky piggies stealing his soul". It was only after moving back home that I realised the book was so rare, I would have bought it from the library if I'd known. I did see a copy in a second hand bookstore once but it was a much older edition and the author was different for some reason. The text seemed to be the same but it was £300 so I didn't bother buying it.

That's because they're lard pigs, not meat pigs. You can make any animal fat or skinny based on how you feed it but meat pigs make gains like they're on gear while lard pigs pack on fat instead.

What a steal. You should've gotten it, anon. The newer editions bowdlerized the chapter 'World as Pig' and excised much of the bovine criticism. It was quite polemic but had an intriguing rawness to it.
