What are the best books about very early christianity and how it slowly grew and persisted in the Roman empire? Also interested in books on how Christianity "changed" once it became the official religion of the Roman Empire.

Im actually more interested in Christianity as a movement, rather than the doctrine.

Just read Ehrman and Stark, then follow the bibliographies and references for even more books.
