If Communist/Marxist write all the bestselling books and the people read them, they'll more likely vote for Communist laws or whatever, same with right wing Fascists, if they create the culture, many people will slowly be fascists. It's best if it was moderate Republican/right wingers or moderate Democrat/left wingers write the culture, but these days, it's either hard right or hard left. Unlike the the films, the books say that Gondor is at least multiethnic with a bunch of various peoples inhabiting the kingdom, not just the tall white Dunedain/Numenoreans. It's not just Sauron who has a military force comprising various beings and humans, but so does Gondor. I think a reason that it doesn't get played up in the novels so much is that the focus is on the members of the Fellowship of the Ring, but also because many of the more racists fans would complain. Even in Heinlein's Starship Troopers, you can infer the multiethnic/multicultural aspects of the Mobile Infantry just by the names of the military member and Heinlein doesn't focus on skin color and it could be because he didn't want to turn away readers. Although the protagonist of Starship Troopers has his actual home language mentioned at the end of the novel. I guess both authors are trying to ease in their readers into being less racist and more open to accepting other peoples and such. Even Tolkien was against the Nazis when they wrote letters asking if he was pro-Nazi and antisemitic.
