The real problem is the level of negative reinforcement inside 4chan, drawing attention to shit posts. If you want to have a real discussion about a topic, post it, and maybe someone will reply. If you get shit posts, then ignore it, don't reply to it for the sake of a bump of your thread. If not, then clearly 4chan (at the time of your posting, there's always 'delete and try again'.) is not the venue for that discussion and you can take it to a literary board that will welcome that discussion with serious and open understanding and without condescending attitudes.

I understand your complains completely, but it's difficult to change the board behavior en masse when really 4chan is a culture itself. Speaking in meme's is a new language and I think, for the light casual conversation that goes on here, perhaps is just expected here, is frankly a interesting way to look at things in a world where nothing matters outside of the meaning we give it, and we're all wearing suits to a pool party.

It isn't wrong to expect more from 4chan but I think you're going about it the wrong way. Ignore shit posts, reward posts that foster higher thought. I wish we had a mod that would sticky threads that were particularly interesting, that would lead people to put thought into creating threads and replies.

Oh yeah, and shitting on someone for what they believe is weak. We need to help each other out instead of trying to make them feel inferior to you so you can go on thinking you're the hot shit. Maybe they're just young, or new to the subject, lost souls looking for a place to start their understanding of a new topic. The reason we can be anonymous is so we can put our ideas, no matter how weak or flawed or unrehearsed they are, out there and get feedback without feeling like our own character is being affected as a result.
