It’s not a secret that the vast majority of book purchases are made by lazy people looking for a magic solution to their problems in a book. A book which they never actually read. Indigo, etc. aren’t so much trying to sell books for literature enthusiasts as they are trying to prey upon shallow consoomers.

Anything that pushes a narrative instead of stating the facts is pop history. These slanted views never survive beyond their contemporary zeitgeist, and the only books that do are the timeless ones without any angle beyond truth. In the same vein all these Trump books of "inside the oval office: Trump said the n-word, I swear" will die from print but they will exist as sources to showcase the hysteria of the time. Does anyone even remember books about the bush presidency written by his detractors? Bush was absolutely hated (though not to the level of Trump) and all of the books written merely a decade ago are already gone.
