If you think Dubliners, A Portrait, and Ulysses are gibberish I would just say you're flat wrong.

Finnegans Wake on the other hand, I'd agree on certain parts.

Gibberish would imply that it has no meaning. Every sentence in finnegans wake has meaning and purpose. All it takes is a glance at annotations to know that. The guy didn't spend 17 years of his life writing a bunch of random stuff

It's honestly fucking embarrassing that people on a board dedicated to literature can't seem to understand this.

But how much of those annotations just people reading their own bullshit into it?

Some parts are obviously up to interpretation, but I think he's referring to say the babada and the other thunder words or the BREKKEK

Clearly you didn't see the words "on certain parts." Obviously as a whole it isn't gibberish, but considering that there are lines, characters, plot threads, and passages that people still don't universally agree on, these passages, to a newcomer, can resemble something close to gibberish.

This. It's actually far worse than gibberish.
