The book is pretty different and I would say that many will find it tedious and not worth reading. Some people like BEE but I think he's a hack, people only know him because of the movie.

But the answer is always yes, read whatever you enjoy. Read anything you like as long as it keeps you reading. I would recommend something less fuckin gay than American Psycho, like Watership Down or something but you do you.

Try to recall what you read a few times after you read it. Also if you're reading fiction for fun then it shouldn't matter all that much, unless you want to study the book or read non fiction. Just relax, enjoy the story and if there is like a name of a character you forgot just look it up.

You have no attention spawn. It will get better with time if you keep reading. Start with easy books, such as YA or genre fiction and force yourself to read for 15 min every day, then 30, then an hour.
Or, you know, just find another excuse to keep your brain rotting.
Also, you can read mangas and 4chan just fine because they don't require a constant stream of thought, they offer you short fragments.
