Melville for his opus (Moby Dick is my favourite fiction book but it isn’t truly a novel like you asked for, too much of it is non-narrative to be best described as a novel) Shakespeare overall in fiction.

I don’t watch many movies, the only ones I rewatch have to be very comfy; let’s say American Psycho.

I don’t watch many shows though, with so many lectures available online there’s little point.

Jazz isn't special compared to other popular music, even if most Jazz composition is more complex nowadays than other genres that would mean you should also separate for example prog rock from pop music.
Also I'm not really a fan of jazz.

Fuck off. I like these threads because if someone really just picks one book as their favourite, that's a real recc. And knowing if their tastes somehow match yours by the rest helps picking which to read first.
At least this is partly about literature. Books for this feel threads and lately WOMEN HATE THREADS (aka literal r9k) are the bad stuff.

Why is Confessions your favorite non-fiction book? I've read it a few months ago, and while a few moments were breathtaking (e. g. "Late have I loved you, O Beauty ever ancient and ever new! Late have I loved you! And, behold, you were within me, and I out of myself, and there I searched for you.") and it is was mostly inspiring and interesting, I was a little disappointed given the reputation of the book.
Also do you read non-fiction often I guess?

Because he has one amazing book that over shadows the rest of his work, half of which is only ok. He is a great writer, but he has not really retained the quality. Mason & Dixon is close to Gravity's Rainbow, but would have barely been noticed if not coming from someone already established, V and Against the Day are great fun and enjoyable reads, but that is about it, the rest of his work would be forgotten completely if it were not for Gravity's Rainbow. Just not favorite author material.
