It's easier to make a story compelling through actual danger to the characters than some implied or abstract danger, someone running from a serial killer is more interesting than someone running from, say, their social obligations. Secondly, they're very easy to read and can be blown through by slow readers quickly so picking one up, even a long one, isn't as much of a commitment. They're a consistently safe choice.

No irony, I just read whatever interests me, I refuse to not read something because of its shitty fan base (BAP, Land)

I usually do used book stores and will pass up a book I want if the edition doesn’t look nice, as I want to give them to my children as he/her grows up. Plus I believe in upholding beauty in every aspect of your life. I don’t know shit about bookbinding tips. I just pierce holes and wrap it with twine and then glue. Then I cut a folder or paper up and fold it over. Try printing two pages per sheet of printer paper, and then cutting down the middle. Keep the book somewhat small and saves ink/paper. You can also use those $.50 folders they sell at office supply stores.

The leather is patent leather, so it's pretty cheap and not high quality. Many of the covers are also somewhat tacky I think.

They cost between $10 and $20 so I suppose they are a fair value, though if you have a shelf full of them they'll also make you look like you're trying to appear wealthier than you are by displaying 'fake' Easton/Folio Society/etc editions.

I actually don't know Hebrew i like that one for being able to get the translation from Hebrew and its notes to compare with translations from Latin or Greek. I did try to learn it once and still have some books to learn but i got bored. Seems easier than some languages to learn from what i experienced and easy to pronounce.

thankyou for the info. there's some documents that i have which i have not seen being posted online before. i want to confirm what they are by myself, since i don't trust the target of my research to do it for me.

That's reasonable, i was told though (when i got that one) that Biblical Hebrew is very different and difficult to understand for modern Hebrew speakers.

yeah i've looked into the language's history and there were atleast 3 "splits" in its history. 2 main ones (Old Hebrew and New Hebrew) and a lesser mixing with another language (some asian language, can't spell in english)
