It’s a dystopia of “an-cap” ideals, so yeah. Liberal plutocracy would allow divided and powerless individualism spin its wheels in that brand of freedom. Not too far from the truth

What can be automated right now is being automated, for reasons that should be obvious, as opposed to the squandered capacity for it.

>We’re required to work.

Assuming that automation is cheaper than human labor, what would be the reason for megacorporations in a cyberpunk setting to keep employing people?
Nowadays civil discontent which leads to political change still has some amount of power over massive corporations, but in the dystopian ancap future of cyberpunk these things wouldn't be threats to the corporate hegemony anymore.
Why would they keep using subpar, unreliable humans instead of just automating it?

You whine about this but it's similar to what happens in modern society. Society needs people to do menial works. Not everyone can be middle management in some corporation. Menial and informal laborers exist and eventually, through economic crisis, fall off and develop their own "economy". It's like the cashier of a shitty grocer in a shitty part of town, or the guys building a wall for Paco's house.
